5 Things You Need to Do to Prepare Your Furbaby for a Pet Photo Shoot

Want to know how to make your pet look like a natural charmer on camera? Then get him ready for your Ricardin Animal Photos experience. Here are the things you need to do before your photo session:

1. Bring your pet’s favorite toy to the shoot.

Is there a toy that your cat or dog loves to play with? Make your beloved pet more comfortable posing in front of the camera by bringing along his favorite toy to the photo session. If he doesn’t like toys, make sure to bring something that will help keep him calm and comfy, like a blanket, pillow, etc.

2. Add some props and outfits.

What makes your pet unique? Think about that when you choose the props and outfits to bring for the photo session. You can bring a basket, a handbag (if kitty loves sleeping in there), or anything that reflects your furbaby’s colorful personality so that it will also show in the photos.

3. Have a leash ready.

Of course, you won’t need to use a leash for home photo sessions. But when the location of the photo shoot is in a dog or cat show, make sure to bring a leash even if you think you have the most behaved pet ever. Dog and cat shows are an entirely different environment for your pet, and seeing other animals might cause him to panic or worse, run away to find a non-threatening hiding spot.

4. Have your baby groomed.

So that your pet will look his best on photos, make sure that he gets a good grooming 2 to 5 days before the shoot. He needs to be washed, brushed, clipped and trimmed.

5. Bring some treats!

Dogs and cats respond better to treats than simply calling their name to get their attention while the shoot is going on. Don’t forget to use special treats for the photo session not just to make your pet look at the camera’s direction but also to reward him for being cooperative.

Once you have everything prepared for your pet’s photo session, you can be sure that your little one will behave, won’t get stressed, and will look great on pictures.
